ZeroBot Guide

Everything you need to run ZeroBot on your own server.

Still stuck? Ask in the support serverQuestions about the bot or the dashboard: the ZeroBot team answers there.

1. Add the bot and sign in

  1. Add the bot. Use the invite link and pick your server. You need the Manage Server permission there.
  2. Move its role up. In Server Settings, Roles, drag the bot's role above every role it should hand out or moderate.
  3. Sign in. Open the dashboard and sign in with Discord. It only ever asks Discord who you are.
  4. Pick your server. If you run more than one, choose it in the server menu at the top right. Everything you change applies to that server only.

2. Your first five minutes

  1. Starting from an empty server? Open Server Builder, pick your server type and press Build. It also makes the ticket panel and staff team, so you can skip those steps below.
  2. Already have channels? Run Setup and choose your log and welcome channels.
  3. On Presets, apply AutoMod Balanced, Anti-Nuke Standard and a welcome message.
  4. Make a ticket panel on Tickets and post it in your support channel.
  5. Add your staff roles under Tickets, Staff Teams, so they can see tickets.
  6. Turn on the Punishments log if you want every ban and timeout on record.

3. Presets

A preset sets several options at once. Press Review to see the exact list of changes, then Apply. Nothing else is touched, so you can try one and adjust by hand after.

4. Every page, explained

ZeroBot AI
One chat for your server, in English or German. Describe the server you want, like "a competitive Minecraft PvP server with tier testing, a staff team, a shop and giveaways", and it designs every category, channel, role and permission, and picks the ZeroBot features to set up: tickets, verification, logs, welcome messages, leveling, self roles and more. The bot checks every part and shows it as it will look in Discord. Keep changing it in the chat ("make the staff area private", "no emojis on the categories"), go back a version if you prefer the last one, then press Build. Build only adds: nothing that exists is deleted or renamed, a channel or role with the same name is reused, and for 24 hours you can remove or restyle what it made. 10 designs and 5 builds a day free, 60 designs and 25 builds with Premium; a build that stops before making anything does not count. In the same chat you can ask for something on your live server, like "start a giveaway for Nitro in #events, 3 days", "lock #general for 30 minutes" or "who invited the most people this month?". That becomes a plan made only of things the bot already does safely, with every step shown, and nothing happens until you press Do it. It never deletes, bans, kicks, times out, DMs or pings. Actions on the live server and answers from your records are Premium (20 plans an hour, 100 a day); on the free plan you see the plan greyed out. When a message could mean the design or the live server, it asks you which.
Server Builder
Builds a whole server for you: roles, categories, channels and who can see what. Pick a type (Minecraft SMP, FFA, Duels, FiveM roleplay, Rust, Roblox, esports, hangout, trading and more), pick a style with a dot or a line between emoji and name, and press Build. It can also switch on verification and connect logs, welcome and tickets.
Setup
Walks you through the basics in one pass: log channels, welcome channel, staff roles. Start here if your server already has its channels.
Presets
Ready-made setups for AutoMod, Anti-Nuke, Verification, welcome messages, tickets and more. Press Review to see exactly what changes, then Apply.
Tickets
Build ticket panels (a button or a dropdown of categories), choose who can see tickets through staff teams, and block people from opening them.
Ticket AI
An AI first responder inside tickets. On the panels you pick, a new ticket does not ping staff: the assistant answers from your server knowledge and ticket notes, and checks what the bot can see about the member (their roles and open cases). Every reply has This solved it and I need a staff member. It pings staff, or high staff for purchases, refunds, appeals and hacked accounts, once, with a short summary, and stops when staff write, claim or press Take over. Keyword topics hand a ticket over by rule. Try any message in the test box first. 30 AI replies a day free, 500 with Premium; after that tickets ping staff at once.
Auto Moderation
Spam, caps, emoji and mention filters that build up heat per member, plus Discord's own AutoMod rules and what the bot does when one fires.
Anti-Nuke
Watches for someone deleting channels, roles or banning people too fast, and quarantines them. Whitelist the admins you trust.
Moderation
Warn, time out, kick and ban from the browser, and see every member's warnings in one list. Switch on message reports here: members right-click a message, Apps, Report message, and the report lands in your staff channel. With the AI mod assistant on, each report also gets a short neutral summary of up to 30 messages around it, the rule it likely breaks, the member's record and a suggested step; staff decide and the AI never acts. It sees labels instead of names, with ids and links removed. 10 AI summaries a day free, 100 with Premium.
Ban Appeals
A web page for people banned from your server. They sign in with Discord (it only reads their name and id, and opens nothing else), the bot checks the ban is real, and they answer why they were banned, why they should be unbanned and up to five questions of your own. The appeal lands in your staff channel with Approve (lifts the ban), Deny (with an optional reason) and Discuss (a staff thread). Only Ban Members or your chosen staff role can press them. One open appeal per person, and a wait you choose after a denial. They see the answer on the same page, with your invite if approved; nobody gets a DM. Copy the appeal link into your rules or ban message.
Auto Promotions
A ladder of staff roles, lowest first, and what each step up takes: days in the rank, tickets handled, punishments, active days, messages, voice minutes, an average ticket rating and no recent strikes. Activity counts from the day someone entered their rank, with a daily limit per kind. A ticket counts once, never for a ticket someone opened themselves or never wrote in, and a punishment only after it has stood for 48 hours. Every 15 minutes the bot promotes whoever met everything (Automatic) or posts a proposal with Approve and Decline (Approve first). A role with Administrator, Manage Server, Manage Roles, Manage Channels, Manage Webhooks or Ban Members is never given automatically. Staff see their progress with /promotion progress. Nobody gets a DM. Free: one ladder of 3 steps, Automatic. Premium: up to 10 ladders of 25 steps, Approve first and inactivity warnings.
Server Backups
Premium. A snapshot of every role, channel and permission each day. After a nuke, preview what a restore puts back, then restore it in one click. Nothing that exists is deleted.
Lockdown
One switch to lock every channel during a raid, and optional kicking or banning of anyone who joins while it is on.
Verification
Make new members press a button or solve a captcha before they can see the server.
Logging
Pick which events are logged (messages, roles, bans, joins and 30 more) and which channel each one goes to.
Punishments
Every ban, kick, timeout and warning files its own post in a forum. Staff only reply with the proof. The page lists the latest cases.
Screening
Automatic checks on who joins, their name and avatar, and what is said in chat. Switch each one on or off.
Applications
A staff application panel with questions, and accept or deny buttons for your team.
Leveling
XP for chatting and time in voice, with a level-up message you write yourself.
Giveaways
The messages a giveaway posts when it ends, with or without a winner.
Join Roles
Roles every new member gets, optionally after they pass Discord's rules screening or after a delay.
Welcome Messages
Join, leave, boost and role messages, with placeholders like {user}, {server} and {membercount}.
Reaction Roles
Messages where members pick their own roles by reacting.
Advanced Messages
Build your own panels with a banner, cards, images and buttons that open more pages, with a live Discord preview.
Community Tools
Suggestion and bug report channels with votes and a status per post, a questions channel the AI answers, voice rooms members create by joining a lobby, live stats channels, alt-account checks, image cards and ticket ratings.
Server Status
A card in a channel that shows whether your Minecraft server is online, how many are playing and its version, and keeps itself up to date. Press Check address to test it first. Premium picks the lines, words, colour, buttons and a faster refresh.
Social Alerts
A post in a channel when a YouTube channel uploads, a Twitch streamer goes live, a subreddit gets a new post or any RSS feed updates. Press Test to see what the bot finds.
Custom Commands
Your own replies. Members type /tag name or !name and the bot answers with the text you wrote.
Scheduled Messages
Messages the bot posts by itself: once at a date, every few hours, daily, or on the weekdays you pick, in your own timezone. Post a simple message or one of your advanced messages, and press Run now to test it. 3 schedules free, 25 with Premium.
Invites
Shows which invite every new member used and who brings the most people in. Give reward roles at a number of invites; only invited members who are still here count. The bot needs the Manage Server permission to see invites.
Birthdays
Members add their birthday with /birthday set (day and month, never the year). On the day, the bot posts your message in a channel and can give a role for 24 hours.
Mini Games
Four chat games, each on its own channel. Counting: the next number only, never the same person twice in a row, a tick for a right number and the record on a mistake. Word chain: each word starts with the last letter of the one before, no repeats. Trivia: a question the AI writes on your topic, or one from your own list; the first right answer wins points, on a timer or started with /games trivia start. Daily question: one discussion question a day at your time. /games leaderboard shows the points, and points can also give XP. No DMs and no pings.
Sticky Messages
A message that stays the last one in its channel: text, a card or one of your advanced messages. After a few new messages or seconds, whichever comes first, the bot posts it again and removes the old copy. It picks up where it left off after a restart. 3 free, 25 with Premium.
Auto Answers
An FAQ that answers in chat. When a member asks something common in your chosen channels, like "whats the ip?", "ip pls", "how do i join" or "wie ist die ip", the bot replies to their message with your answer, as text or a small card, without pinging them. Each entry has a title, trigger phrases and the answer; {ip} and {port} come from Server Status, and {server} and {user} work too. Short forms, typos and German questions are understood, and normal chat that only mentions a word ("the ip drama", "ipad") is ignored: when in doubt it stays silent. The same answer comes at most once per channel per cooldown (2 minutes by default), and not while its last answer is still among the last 10 messages. Optional AI matching asks the AI only about questions the triggers missed, and answers only when it is sure. Test any message on the page to see which entry would answer and why, start from templates for Minecraft servers and communities, and see answers per entry this week. The entries live in your server knowledge, which the ticket AI reads too. 15 entries and 50 AI checks a day free, 100 entries and 1,000 checks with Premium. Never a DM.
Marketplace
Setups other servers shared and ZeroBot's own official templates: ticket panels, Advanced Messages, welcome messages, role menus, verification, applications, protection presets, leveling, mini games, Auto Answers, Ticket AI and whole server layouts, alone or as bundles. Installing asks you to map each channel and role to one of yours, or lets ZeroBot create it, shows a preview, and only adds: a same-named item is replaced or added as a copy only if you say so, and an install can be undone for 24 hours. Publish your own from the Marketplace or from a feature's page; ZeroBot takes out every id, invite, token and name first and screens the words and pictures. 5 published setups free, 50 with Premium. Anyone can browse at /explore without signing in.
Analytics
Joins, leaves, messages, active members and the busiest hours and channels, over 7, 30 or 90 days. Counts only, never message content.
Bot Profile
Premium. Give the bot its own nickname, avatar, banner and bio on your server.
Time Machine
Premium. A journal of every channel, role, permission, ban and member role change for 30 days, with who made it. Undo makes a deleted channel or role again with its settings and permissions, reverts an edit, or lifts a ban. Undo never deletes or bans, and messages cannot be brought back.
Fire Drill
Plays a bot raid, a nuke, a scam wave and mention spam against your current settings, second by second, without touching Discord. Each ends with a score, the gaps it found, and a one-click fix where ZeroBot has a setting for it.
Member 360
Search a member and see everything on one page: account age, joins and leaves, who invited them, level, activity, warnings, cases, tickets, alt-account signals and private staff notes. The AI briefing sums it up from those records only: 5 a day free, 50 with Premium.
Server Wrapped
A recap card posted on the 1st of every month: most active members, time in voice, new members, the busiest day and hour, the biggest channel, level-ups, giveaways, tickets solved and a member of the month. Counts only, never message content. Preview this month so far and post a test any time.

6. Common questions

I signed in but it says the bot is not in any of my servers.

Add the bot first with the invite button, to a server where you have Manage Server. Then sign in again.

The bot ignores a command or cannot give a role.

Drag the bot's role above the roles it has to hand out, in Server Settings then Roles. Discord never lets a bot manage a role above its own.

I changed a panel but the message in Discord looks the same.

Panels are posted messages. Press Post or Resend on that panel's page to put the new version up.

Some pages talk about Minecraft.

Server Status, the Server Builder and the Auto Answers templates have options for game servers like Minecraft, because many communities run one. Every page works without one.

Will a preset delete my settings?

No. A preset only changes the fields it lists. Word lists, channels, roles and whitelists stay as they are.
